Serving Our Neighbors
We are part of a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. For Nebraska Disciples, that movement takes shape in concrete acts of service — in sandwiches made for hungry neighbors, in communities welcomed after long journeys, in hands working together toward a more just world. This is the call we answer together.
Together for Good: Tri-Regional Mission Day
In August 2025, the Tri-Regional Partnership dream grew hands and feet. Members of all three regions — Nebraska, Kansas, and Greater Kansas City — gathered at Overland Park Christian Church for an intergenerational Day of Service we called Together for Good.
We made sandwiches for food and housing insecure neighbors, packed hygiene kits, wrote encouragement cards for Kansas City teachers as they began a new school year, and made protest signs in support of our neighbors. We worshiped and laughed and shared a meal.
It was a good day. A reminder that even when things aren’t good, God is good — and we can do good. The work doesn’t stop here. We’re still dreaming and God’s still moving.

Disaster Response
When disaster strikes in Nebraska or beyond, Week of Compassion is the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)’s primary channel for disaster response. They work with regions, congregations, and individuals to coordinate relief and recovery efforts.
If your congregation is responding to a disaster — locally or nationally — please reach out to the Regional Minister so we can coordinate together and connect you with the right resources.
