September 28th, the Region will host a Zoom session on Getting Comfortable with Zoom. (Yes, we will send out an instruction sheet on how to access Zoom)
The Business Session of the Assembly will include much of what you are used to during a Regional Assembly, but we will not be allowed to vote on anything due to some limitations on electronic voting. Another Email will explain the details of the Business Session.
Would it be simpler and easier to host a Watch Party either in your home, or at your church? We understand that not everyone has stable internet access in their home. It occurs to the Regional Assembly Planning Group that maybe you would like to host a small group (5 or 6?) Watch Party (while social distancing!!! And wearing masks!!!!). The cost is the $25 registration fee — but we hope you’ll consider also making a Donation to the Region.
Please Consider Sharing this information with all of the members of the Church where you worship! We have some great people who will lead us both on Friday evening and Saturday.
In place of trying to have hour-long Conversations (previously known as Workshops), your Regional Assembly Planning Group has opted to host one Conversation during the Oct 16th and 17th gathering, and then host a Season of Conversations: Monday Evening with Many
Oct 26th – America’s Story on Race – Disciples Clergy
Nov 9th – Facilitating Church Meetings – Chris Morton
Nov 16th – Telling Our Story and Being More Transparent on Substance Use and Mental Health Issues – Ruth Few and NEB-Disciples Behavioral Health Initiative
Then, in January 2021 we will continue our Season of Conversations: Monday Evening with Many with the following line-up:
Displaced Peoples, Boundaries, and Borders – Lori Tapia
World Café – Chris Morton
Our Story as Stewards of God’s Creation – Dan Deffenbaugh
